What:
Pasadena, CA -- Ester Brym, director and editor of the award-winning film "Butterflies" will showcase her short film, "12 Hours or How I Deal with Sh*t" at the annual Action on Film Festival in Pasadena, California July 22-30. The festival is a nine-day long extravaganza with 600+ screenings, celebrity dinners, a red carpet event, and the renowned awards show.
"12 Hours or How I Deal with Sh*t" is the story of one girl's day and what happens when you walk a small dog in a big city. It was originally shot for Ridley Scott's "Life in a Day," the global experiment to create the world's largest user-generated feature film. The artsy, humorous short features Ester herself walking her fluffy puppy on a morning walk. Short snippets from her short are featured in Scott's full-length feature.
"I really like to tell stories and I really enjoy editing and filming," says Brym. "When all three come together, usually I end up with some kind of a movie...I am very much into documentaries and rarely shoot anything fictional."
Ester's feature documentary, "Butterflies" won her the prestigious Alan J Bailey award at the 2009 Action on Film Festival. The film followed the lives of six young people that are prominent 'weblebrities' in the Youtube community.
"Ester Brym is a very artistic filmmaker with a great eye and attention to detail. We're so excited to have her back at this year's festival, and can't wait to showcase her alternative yet relevant work," says Del Weston, AOF festival creator and director.
The seventh annual Action on Film Festival will take place July 22-30 in Pasadena, CA. Featuring screenings, dinners, an award show, and a renowned red carpet event, the festival and celebration will attract hundreds of talented filmmakers, celebrities, and fans alike.
